United Airlines Halts All Flights Due to Technical Problem
If you were hoping to board a United Airlines flight today, be prepared for a potentially long delay. According to ABC News, the company has implemented a nationwide ground stop due to a “computer issue.” The Federal Aviation Administration confirmed that United Airlines has requested a pause in departures across the country.
United wrote in a statement on X (formerly Twitter) that it is experiencing a “system-wide technology issue.” Aircraft on the ground will remain there for the time being and flights will continue to their destination. The company promised to share more information as it becomes available and to get passengers on their way as soon as possible.

United has suspended flights in the UK following a similar issue just last week. The air traffic control glitch resulted in a fifth of UK departures and 27 per cent of flights due to arrive in the country last Monday when the problem emerged.
